40/29 News has reached out to several school districts in our area about their plans for possible severe weather Monday evening and on Tuesday. Here are what the districts told us:BENTONVILLE:"We're watching closely and will have a better idea tomorrow morning. There are no plans for early dismissal today."FAYETTEVILLE:"We will be monitoring the situation closely. Technology makes that so much easier than in my first years here. Hopefully, we can get everyone home this afternoon before it gets bad. Now that the athletic seasons are over, we won't have any teams traveling this afternoon or tonight. Storms during arrival time in the morning are more difficult, as we can't control when students arrive at school. Just like on potential snow days, we will be up early in the morning monitoring and using the tools we have available, including parent contact and social media."FORT SMITH:Fort Smith Schools were closed Monday. As of Sunday afternoon, four school buildings, and the service center complex, including the transportation division were without power.Monday afternoon, a school spokesperson told 40/29 News power was been restored, and schools will be open Tuesday.ROGERS: "We will be monitoring the weather to see if we need to take any special actions or precautions, but at this time, we are just staying vigilant."SPRINGDALE:"Each building is equipped with a plan for severe weather. School hours will be as normal. Our schools are among the safest buildings to be in during a storm. The only issue is if there is extremely severe weather at the time schools are dismissed. If the atmosphere is unsafe, students may be kept in their buildings until the severe weather passes."
