A Sri Lankan beer Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) has welcomed a new beer, Lion Beer which has hit the supermarket shelves.

The Lion Beer, is produced by the Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC, a predominantly Sri Lankan owned and operated brewery.

it is imported and distributed locally by Lyceum Global Trading (PTE) Limited, which was incorporated in Fiji three years ago.

“This additional new beer brand is going to be a hit because the taste matches any of the international top brands that we know of,” said Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) president Dr Ram Raju who officiated at the launch at the Ice Bar, Nadi on Thursday night.

A Suva launch is to follow.

Lion Beer will join the likes of leading and a growing range of alternatives of local beers Fiji Gold, Fiji Bitter.

“Lion Beer coming to Fiji for the first time will give people a choice and a different taste,” Dr Raju said.

“I think this beer will definitely pick up business in the form of beer that people will look forward to having in the near future.

“Let’s welcome this new company and I am glad that they have chosen Nadi to do their set up which is the center of entertainment in the West and further on you have the White house and other nightclubs and it is going to attract more visitors to this part of this town.”

Mr Narayan will reveal the full plans in coming weeks.
