The next generation of Apple's iPhones will include a plus-size model with a triple lens rear camera, according to a new report.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a track record of leaking accurate information on Apple products, claims the company will release three new iPhones in 2019 under the iPhone 11 banner.
However, only the 6.5-inch model will get the triple camera system, which will include one wide, one telephoto, and one ultra-wide lens, according to 9to5Mac .
The 6.1-inch and 5.8-inch models will have dual and single lens cameras respectively.
An earlier report by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News claimed that the triple camera system would be made up of three 12-megapixel lenses, and would be capable of a five-times zoom effect.
All three models will come with a frosted glass casing option, and feature ultra-wide band connectivity for indoor positioning and navigation, according to Kuo.
They will also have upgraded Face ID, larger batteries and "bilateral wireless charging", meaning they could be used to charge other devices, the report claims.
Kuo also said all three iPhone models will include Lightning connectors rather than USB-C and have the same notch area on the screen as current models.
The new devices are expected to be unveiled in September 2019.
Apple wouldn't be the first phone maker to introduce a triple-lens camera on its devices. Huawei's P20 Pro, released in March 2018, has a 40MP, 20MP and 8MP sensor.
Meanwhile, LG's V40 ThinQ features a total of five camera lenses - a triple lens rear camera, as well as a dual-lens front facing camera.
