The new iPad Pros models are pretty awesome, but they’re also pretty expensive. Fortunately, for two days Best Buy is offering discounts ranging from $100 to $150 for both new and old iPad Pro models , which makes these prices a heck of a lot more palatable for the pocketbook. In some cases, they’re the best prices we’ve ever seen.
You’ll find 32 different models on sale, but here’s a few of the standout offers. You can get an entry-level 11-inch 64GB 2018 iPad Pro for just $700 (down from $800), or you can get 2017’s 64GB space gray 10.5-inch iPad Pro for a mere $550 (down from $650).
If you want more space (and you probably do, especially if you plan on using these as “pro” devices), you can get the 512GB 11-inch 2018 iPad Pro for just $1,000 , down from the normal retail price of $1,150.
As I said in our review, the new iPad Pros are wonderful machines—so long as you keep in mind that they’re tablets and not laptops. There’s also the whole “ bendgate” controversy to worry about, but to date I’ve yet to see any bending in Macworld’s own iPad Pro. For that matter, the tablets still hold a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Best Buy, so I doubt many other users are experiencing the same problem. That said, at this point I have no doubt that the problem exists, so you should at least keep this possibility in mind when making your purchase.
If you feel like that’s too much of a risk to take, you’ll be fine if you get the 2017 iPad Pro instead. It still has a lighting-fast processor (although there’s a noticeable speed boost with the latest models), and they still work extraordinarily well with the first-generation Apple Pencil. At the moment, you’ll see little difference in app performance between the two models, although that may no longer be the case when Adobe Photoshop finally comes to iPad Pro latest this year.
