BeWunder, an expert in creating multisensory experiences using a range of media and technology, was part of the project team working on the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Experience Centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This project combines spectacular aesthetics with advanced technology.

A turnkey partner
The primary scope included integrating cutting-edge AV technology to enhance the exhibition’s interactivity and engagement. The project manager was Ubair Riyaz.
The BeWunder team designed and installed high-lumen projection for various exhibition zones and implemented ultra-short-throw lenses for space efficiency. They also provided multichannel media servers with high storage capacity for seamless content playback and deployed interactive projection mapping systems for engaging digital displays.
Within the centre, the team also worked on the digital labels and interactive screens. For instance, BeWunder installed 10.1” interactive touchscreen displays for visitor engagement and set up OLED and LCD touch displays for interactive storytelling. In addition, the company integrated multi-touch foils and capacitive touch systems to enable dynamic user interaction.
Regarding the audio systems for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Experience Centre, BeWunder’s solution included a distributed audio system featuring passive two-way loudspeakers. The team integrated Dante-enabled audio amplifiers for seamless sound distribution and directional audio solutions for focused sound experiences. They also set up induction loops for accessibility and an improved guest experience.
A multisensory experience
The design also includes scent and environmental effects for a more immersive experience, with controlled aroma systems to enhance sensory engagement and integrated DMX-controlled effects for synchronised environmental interactions.
When it comes to the infrastructure, the company’s design included CATx HDMI extenders for seamless video distribution and USB extenders for long-range interactive device connections. It also installed local patch cabling infrastructure for power, data, and speaker systems.
The project scope also encompassed testing, commissioning and handover. As such, BeWunder programmed AV systems for show sequences and interactive exhibits, calibrated and fine-tuned projection, audio, and interactive systems, and conducted user training sessions for operational personnel on system usage and maintenance. Plus, the team prepared as-built documentation and operations & maintenance manuals.
In terms of project completion and support, the firm performed professional cleaning of all equipment before handover and rectified defects during the handover phase.
