Legendary comedy series returning to broadcaster after 11 years away as FOUR new seasons are confirmed

A legendary comedy series is set to return to Fox after 11 years at a rival broadcaster as four new seasons are confirmed.

Fox has ordered a renewal of the early 2000's cartoon sitcom American Dad!, which first hit screens back in 2005.

It will total to 60 additional episodes in 15 half-hour instalments per each of the four seasons.

American Dad! originally aired on Fox's Animation Domination before moving to TBS in 2014, running on the TV network from its 12th season to its 21st, which finished last month.

It was recently confirmed to be returning to Fox and has been welcomed back with the whopping multiple new season order.

Other iconic shows, including The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers have also been treated to four more seasons.

Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, said: 'This new deal celebrates the eternal popularity of these iconic comedies, as well as the enduring, prolific relationship we continue to enjoy with our friends at 20th Television Animation and the brilliant creators – that goes double for Seth this time around — and incredible voices behind these contemporary classics.'

Iconic cartoon series American Dad! has reportedly seen 388 episodes so far and features voice overs by Seth MacFarlane, Wendy Schaal and Scott Grimes.

The long-standing satire show follows Stan Smith as he deals with family life and saving the country.

It comes after another comedy series returned to screens after being off air for seven years.

Fans can't contain their excitement as beloved show, Dave Gorman Modern Life is Goodish, made a comeback earlier this year.

The comedy series starring Dave Gorman, 53, returned to the UK TV channel U&Dave for a series of three hour-long specials in February - and fans couldn't be more thrilled.

Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: 'Absolutely loved MLIG and I’ve watched every episode multiple times.'

'Cannot express how deliriously overjoyed I am about this news.'

Another viewer hailed it as 'Dave's best original show' while a third fan wrote on IMDb: 'Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish is a show that points out the faults in modern life’s society and makes quite valid, obscure statements,'

'And at times he has gone to some extreme measures just to prove his point, which ends up being just as true as it is hysterical.'
