Coronation Street fans are excited as a Britain's Got Talent star has announced they will be joining the Cobbles. Canadian comedian Kevin Finn featured on last year's edition of the ITV talent show and soon became a fan favourite with his hilarious comedy skits and his impressive take on a number of UK accents.

Kevin reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent and his performances were often based around the differences he found between living in England and Canada.

The comedian, now living in London, shot to fame for his talent for regional accents. Taking to TikTok, he said he was "baffled" by a certain British behaviour.

He shared an amusing observation from his flight to Greece. He noticed a common phrase among the passengers: He said: "I've never heard so many people use the phrase 'well, I'm on my holiday', just to do whatever they want to do," he said.

The video resonated with viewers, racking up over 1.9m views and more than 1,600 comments. Many praised Kevin's English accent as "spot on".

More recently, Kevin took to social media to make an announcement about his next career move. He told his 140,000 Instagram followers that they will soon be able to spot him in ITV soap Coronation Street.

He shared a photograph of him on set, as he captioned the post: "FINALLY I can share this. I'M ON @coronationstreet. I’ll be on a few episodes over the next week or two. Was a blast. Thank you to my agent @alexpriestleytalent for getting me the audition! Doing the accent and all."

Fans rushed to the comments to congratulate Kevin. One wrote: "Omg!! I don’t even watch this anymore but I’ll be tuning in for you xx." More added: "Omg you’ve actually taken over Britain I love it! This is incredible well done", "Yay!!!!! This is great!" and "Whattttttt???? OMG that's incredible. Congratulations."

But Kevin is not the first Britain's Got Talent star to step foot in Weatherfield, as Jack Carroll has made a name for himself since he first appeared as Carla Connor's son in 2023. His incredible stand-up routines earned him second place on the ITV talent show.

The Bobby Crawford star has been at the heart of several major storylines, including the mysterious disappearance of Lauren Bolton, reports Devon Live, as well as the recent comeback of his troublemaker dad Rob Donavon.

In recent episodes, Rob has caused chaos in the street as he held his sister, Carla hostage along with her girlfriend DS Lisa Swain. Rob fled from Weatherfield after a dramatic showdown at the hospital after a kidney transplant.

However, he soon made his return and was thrust straight back into the action after he convinced Tracy Barlow to let him stay. In a devastating turn of events, it was Betsy Swain who suffered the most after receiving a gunshot to the shoulder.

The police burst into number one, and PC Kit Green arrested Rob for false imprisonment and possession of a firearm. Fans took to social media following the dramatic scenes, Sammi wrote: "I AM IN SHOCK I am still SHAKING." Another viewer praised the actors for an impressive performance: ""Honestly this scene was an absolute masterclass from Ali, Vicky and Marc."

Coronation Street is on ITV at 8pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and available to stream from 7am on ITVX.
