“Abbott Elementary” actor Tyler James Williams was among the participants of the Disney Dreamers Academy sessions recently held at Walt Disney World.

Williams invited two students, aspiring filmmakers Sydney Gilmore  of Dallas and Zane Stevenson of Houston, to visit the set of his sitcom, which airs on ABC, which is owned by Disney.

The five-day, annual event includes 100 students involved with mentoring programs and workshops that introduces young people to career paths in business, entertainment and sciences, including some at Walt Disney Co.

Other celebrities who appeared in support of the Disney Dreamers included Rickey Smiley (“The Rickey Smiley Morning Show”), David and Tamela Mann (“Meet the Browns”) and Kelvin Harrison Jr. (“Mufasa: The Lion King,” a 2024 film).

Williams plays the Gregory Eddie character in the docucomedy, now in its fourth season, and he has earned a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performances. His previous credits include TV’s “Everybody Hates Chris” and “The Walking Dead” as well as the films “Dear White People” and “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.”
