Google has officially announced that its latest mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 9a, will be available for purchase in India starting April 16, 2025. The device, which was unveiled earlier this month, is part of Google's popular Pixel A-series, known for delivering flagship-like features at a more affordable price.

The Pixel 9a is priced at Rs 49,999 in India and will be offered in three color options: Iris (Blue), Obsidian (Black), and Porcelain (White). It will be available online via Flipkart and offline at select retail outlets, including Reliance Digital and Tata Croma. Launch offers include instant discounts of Rs 3,000 on select bank cards and no-interest EMI plans for up to 24 months.

Google Pixel 9a comes with a 6.3-inch Actua display with 2,700 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The smartphone comes powered by Tensor G4 processor with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.
Google Pixel 9a is built with a composite matte glass back and a satin metal frame, weighing 185.9 grams and measuring 8.9mm thick. The device is backed by a 5,100mAh battery with support for 23W wired charging and Qi wireless charging. The smartphone comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Pixel 9a runs on Android 15. Google has committed to providing seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates for the device.
On the camera front, Google Pixel 9a is equipped with a dual-camera system featuring a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, Pixel 9a has a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. With Google Pixel 9a, the company has introduced Macro Focus to the A-series. The device also includes AI-powered computational photography features such as Add Me, Best Take, Magic Editor, Night Sight, Astrophotography, Panorama with Night Sight, and Magic Eraser.
Google's Gemini AI comes integrated into the Pixel 9a, offering an AI assistant for various tasks across Google apps like Maps, Calendar, and YouTube. Gemini Live allows for conversational interactions, with upcoming features including video and screen-sharing capabilities with Gemini Advanced.
Additional AI-powered features include Circle to Search and Pixel Studio, along with security features like Car Crash Detection, Theft Detection, and live location sharing via Find My Device. The Pixel 9a also includes family-friendly features such as screen time controls, app usage insights, and School Time mode through Google Family Link.
The phone supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The device also has dual speakers and two microphones, with USB Type-C 3.2 for charging and data transfer.
