Tesco Clubcard has sent out an urgent message to its customers, advising them to update their app promptly due to significant changes that are just around the corner. The retail giant has informed its users that they must upgrade their apps by March 31, as older versions will cease to function after this date.
In a communication dispatched to its clientele today, Tesco stated: "To increase your data protection and online security, we're updating our Tesco app to a newer version. After March 31, older versions of the app will no longer work."
The supermarket chain is encouraging customers to ensure they have the most recent version of the app by the end of March to continue accessing all the Clubcard perks seamlessly. Updates for both the Tesco grocery and Clubcard apps are available through the Apple App Store or Google Play, reports Birmingham Live.
One satisfied customer left a 4/5 star review on Google Play, commenting: "App works great. Easy to manoeuvre around, find items. Del. updates are informative. However, some considerations, Be able to amend favourites list, and there is no way of doing this, so it grows. Also, be able to manually add items to the list so it can be purchased in the future."
They added suggestions for improvement, saying: "Also, the basket to be sorted into groups, so it's easier to see. eg, food cupboard, frozen, pet foods, etc. The sort and filter tabs could have more choice. Reviews on products from customers would be nice."
"I truly love this app. I am disabled and I struggle to get groceries. This helps so much (would like to see more of a selection and some cheaper brands as an option). I have to add that Tesco go above and beyond to fix things when the order is wrong or doesn't show up. Thankfully it's rare to have thongs go wrong," another user commented.
However, one user expressed frustration: "So many problems with this app that it's hard to pick the most infuriating one to review.
"The 'favourites' list (actually a list of everything you ever bought), which by necessity is the main way you choose your shopping, seems to have been deliberately designed to drive users potty. It constantly pings you back up to the top for no reason, and then as you scroll down it pauses to load every few items.
"Most of my shops I spend more time trying to scroll back to where I was than I do shopping."
