On the night of Sunday, March 23, a Russian Shahed drone struck a building in Kyiv, which housed the office of the Ukrainian Agrivoltaics Association and the laboratory of its partner.
The association reported this on Monday, March 24.
Part of the building was provided by the association's strategic partner, Ukraine's largest high-tech laboratory complex, which assisted in conducting research.
"As a result of the attack, about 100 people were left without high-tech workplaces. Everything was destroyed! Equipment, documents... Unfortunately, our association is now without an office," the statement said.
Agrivoltaics is a dual land-use technology that integrates renewable energy sources with agricultural systems and technologies.
The Ukrainian Agrivoltaics Association brings together farmers, renewable energy experts, and scientists working together on implementing innovative solutions in agriculture.
The association reminded that on March 8, a direct hit by a Russian Shahed destroyed a warehouse that contained equipment for the joint research and industrial complex in the field of agrivoltaics. The destroyed complex was planned to be the largest research center for agrivoltaics in Europe, which was set to begin operations in 2026.
"Despite everything, we are working on its recovery," the association stated.
On the night of March 23, 2025, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with strike drones, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a 5-year-old child.
