Berekum Chelsea closed the gap between themselves and league leaders FC Samartex following their win on Monday afternoon.
Samuel Boadu's men claimed a 2-0 win at home against Medeama SC to move into fifth position on the Ghana Premier League table.
Chelsea came into the game with just one win in their last five games compared to the away side's two in five.
After a goalless first half, Hubert Gyau netted the opener for Boadu's side in the 71st minute.
Mezack Afriyie doubled the lead 10 minutes later for the hosts to put the game beyond the reach of the Tarkwa-based side.
With the win on Monday, Berekum Chelsea are now eight points behind leaders Samartex who suffered defeat against Asante Kotoko over the weekend.
Medeama, on the other side, stay eighth on the table with 39 points.
