Dean Vaughan joins networking vendor effective immediately

Silver Peak has appointed Dean Vaughan as vice president of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), recruiting the channel-friendly industry veteran from Oracle.

Effectively immediately, Vaughan is tasked with accelerating business expansion and customer acquisition across the market, primarily through enterprise and service provider channels.

Based out of Singapore, Vaughan is a channel veteran with 22 years of industry experience, most recently serving nine years at Oracle as senior director of Cloud Platform Solutions for ASEAN.

Prior to Oracle, Vaughan held channel-facing roles at Citrix, Channel Dynamics and 3Com, having started out as enterprise sales manager across Asia Pacific at NCR.

“It is an exciting time to join Silver Peak as geographically distributed enterprises across the Asia Pacific and Japan region turn to SD-WAN as a means to drive cloud and digital transformation initiatives,” said Vaughan.

“My immediate task is to put in place the best go-to-market strategy and team to lead Silver Peak forward, empowering customers across the region with our business-driven Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN edge platform and liberating them from the compromises of router-centric and basic SD-WAN approaches to transform their networks into a business accelerant.”

Vaughan will be responsible for APJ’s enterprise sales, including go-to-market and channel strategies to drive partner engagement and customer acquisition.

Furthermore, in November 2018, the vendor made significant enhancements to its global Partner Edge program, alongside the on-boarding of several channel executives to capitalise on SD-WAN market growth, which is set to reach US$8 billion by 2021, according to IDC.

“Dean is a strong and seasoned leader who will enable us to capitalise on the unprecedented wave of SD-WAN demand across the Asia Pacific and Japan region,” said Ken Laversin, chief revenue officer at Silver Peak.

“Dean’s demonstrated expertise in growing multiple businesses across Asia Pacific and Japan, and his depth of knowledge of the enterprise and channel market will enable Silver Peak to accelerate business expansion and customer acquisition, further entrenching us as the global SD-WAN leader delivering the transformational promise of the cloud with the industry’s first self-driving wide area network.”
