The Hover 2 is taking flight after ZeroZero Robotics recently launched the drone on Kickstarter.
The Hover 2 encompasses a new drone experience with optical radar, AI obstacle avoidance, and tracking features. Users can choose between four present shots, and the drone can fly into position, and frame and capture the shot, all with the tap of a button. Additionally, the omni-follow keeps you in the frame from any angle. This means Hover 2 can follow you from the front, back, or side, and even switch between all three in the same shot.
Combined with SLAM 3D mapping, Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO), and path planning features, the drone can navigate environments with a 360-degree obstacle avoidance. It can also avoid obstacles while tracking a target in real-time.
Using a computer vision system, Hover 2 can lock onto a target even if there have been changes in appearance and shape of the target. The algorithm accurately assess the cause of obstruction and adjusts its tracking strategy.
Additionally, the Hover 2 is enclosed with propellers and obstacle avoidance technology to protect both the drone and yourself. The aerially enhanced propeller guards improve aerodynamics and increase flight time up to 23 minutes. Once the drone is airborne a small remote device called the Palm Pilot, or a companion app, lets you fly, land, and control the drone.
It’s also extremely easy to fold-up and take with you on any adventure. After folding the drone, it’s about the size of a book. The Hover 2 is expected to launch in April 2019, if all goes accordingly.
